Walking in the City

Walking is a great free and healthy way to make short journeys and it is also very environmentally friendly and sustainable so take a stroll and make a wise move!

The City Centre Movement Strategy currently underway in Liverpool aims to improve accessibility for pedestrians, helping them to move safely and easily around the city centre and to improve the environment for us all. A useful guide to city centre walks is available or if you prefer more expert help, guided walks are also on offer.

Walks in the countryside along the extensive network of footpaths are a great healthy leisure activity. If you prefer more of a social walk, the Ramblers Association organise walks around the Merseyside region catering for different ages and interests and most areas have their own local walking groups.
