Merseyrail

Merseyrail is the main train operator on Merseyside and their website offers timetable and journey planners across the whole national rail network as well as ticket information and real time service information within the region to help you keep your journey on track.

Information on all train services in the region is also available on the national rail website which for the technologically advanced, can be accessed via WAP enabled mobile phones.

Merseyrail offers a fast and easy to use alternative to car travel around Merseyside.

Tickets are available for one trip, weekly or longer periods. Combined tickets can be bought which are valid on trains, buses and ferries, offering passengers easy travel around our urban transport network.

And uniquely - it doesn't cost any extra to take your bike on a Merseyrail train - whenever you travel!

Merseytravel, with the Department for Transport, works to ensure a local and cross boundary rail network exists to meet our needs. As part of the Local Transport Plan we have developed a Merseyside Rail Strategy which you can download below for more information on how we plan to continue to improve our rail network.
